There are several grape production spray schedules available to NC winegrape growers.
The Southeast Regional Muscadine Grape Integrated Management Guide and Bunch Grape Integrated Management Guide are released by the Southern Region Small Fruit Consortium with content contributed from North Carolina State University, Virginia Tech, Clemson, the University of Georgia, and the University of Tennessee.
The Virginia Cooperative Extension publication Diseases and Insects in Vineyards is another regional source of pest management information.
Another approach to sprays is offered by Black Ankle Vineyards of Mount Airy, MD. Co-owner and vineyard manager Ed Boyce has allowed us to share their Spray Schedule for the "Average Year," which reflects their dedication to sustainable viticulture in an all-vinifera vineyard. This production spray schedule was developed for high density plantings of varieties not susceptible to sulfur toxicity, cane pruned on a VSP trellis. For more information on sustainable systems, see our Sustainable Viticulture pages.
These spray schedules are intended only as general guidelines. Always comply with labeled pesticide instructions in application.
